Dr Hermann Eichler

Dr Hermann Eichler currently serves as professor of transfusion medicine and clinical haematology and heads the haemophilia comprehensive care centre at the Saarland University Hospital in Homburg/Saar, Germany. He completed his medical degree at the University of Wuerzburg and specialty training in paediatrics, anaesthesiology and transfusion medicine. His primary scientific interests focus on patients with congenital and acquired coagulation disorders. He and his team are currently involved in clinical studies and basic scientific research on blood coagulation.

 

Dr Steven Kitchen

Dr Steve Kitchen is currently the lead clinical scientist in the Department of Coagulation at the Sheffield Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre in Sheffield, UK. He also serves as scientific director for the United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Scheme (NEQAS) for blood coagulation and director of the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) International External Quality Assessment Schemes (IEQAS) for blood coagulation. In the past, he served as the chair of the WFH Laboratory Scientific Committee and chair of the Plasma Coagulation Inhibitors Sub-committee of the Scientific and Standardization Committee of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH-SSC).
